The Web isn't just a bunch of ones and zeros, it's a place to create, share and enjoy. Let design create the illusion, and data capture reality.

ABC1 UK

The idea behind the ABC1 UK site was first thought of by Lloyd England back in February 2005, and a month later in March 2005, the site was launched, and was an instant hit with ABC1 fans and viewers. The fundamental idea behind the site was to bring information and news regarding the channel to viewers and potential viewers to the channel alike. At that time there was no official ABC1 website, and so no where for viewers to find information.

A few months later in July 2005, the owner of the then J Network (John Thackeray) proposed the site join the network, which it in turn did. Along with this new partnership came the introduction of the ABC1 UK Forums so that the viewers could join a community. Over the next few months the site continued to grow, getting more visitors and ever increasing its content and features. In Autumn 2005 the site got a complete re-write of code, even though the style remained the same.

I joined the team a year after it's launch and led the redesign. Everything had to be re-written and re-made to go with the new look. The idea was to add more features and more information to the website. With this trying to make the site more interactive - but most of all - to try to keep it as up to date as possible - which will be an ongoing task!
